McDonald’s brings “The Big Bang Theory” to Cologne!

McDonald’s is activating its commitment at this year’s Gamescom with a treat for all fans of “The Big Bang Theory”: The company is bringing the legendary living room from the successful series to Germany for the first time – and not just that.

In Hall 8, Gamescom visitors will then be able to experience their very own “big bang” moment. They will have the opportunity to take photos, play the cult game “Scissors, Stone, Paper, Lizard, Spock” against the digital versions of four leading actors at a gaming terminal and win a McDonald’s Gold Card.

McDonald’s also wants to give the fans the opportunity to experience one of the stars of the series in person: In cooperation with Pro Sieben, where the final season of “The Big Bang Theory” can be seen in autumn, McDonald’s is bringing one of the actors to Gamescom in one day. Who that will be is expected to be revealed via social media.

The action results from the thematic proximity of “The Big Bang Theory” and Gamescom, explains a McDonald’s spokesman: “The series is all about the experiences of a group of scientists who are all very enthusiastic about gaming. For us as a brand that is now in its third year at Gamescom, it is always important to be close to the target group’s living environments and to create special moments. At this year’s gamescom, we see ourselves as an ‘enabler’, bringing the set in this form to Europe for the first time and making this special experience possible for the large number of fans”.

However, McDonald’s will not only use the “TBBT” environment for communication purposes at Gamescom. Because the cooperation with Pro Sieben goes much deeper: In addition to the brand presence at the trade fair, the brand will also be represented with special forms of advertising in the environment of the broadcast of the final episodes.
